Discussion about Lady - Lady
Danrad
Eleven Soul Pop songs with Nicole Wray and Terri Walker on vocal duties, creating a great sixties feel for 2013 and beyond thanks to the production skills of Jeff Dynamite a/k/a Jeff Silverman and Leon Michels both of Aloe Blacc “I Need A Dollar” fame (as well as several other projects on Truth & Soul which are possibly not as well known to the general pop audience). This will stand the test of time even though it seems that Nicole and Terri have gone their separate ways and it will remain a one off collaboration, which is a real shame. While “the rest” isn’t bad either and would make other bands proud but the stand out tracks are Money (always a good subject to get people’s attention), Hold On (which you might think is called Slow Down... featuring nice strings), Get Ready (catchy chorus with good horn arrangement), Karma (slow and mighty: possibly THE unexpected stand out track, great lyrics, plugged strings, nice guitar solo, just wow...!) and “finally” Sweet Lady which should get some airplay every year on Mothers Day. For some reason, this album does not seem to float around dirt cheap, so rather than hesitate just drop the tenner or so and get it. It’s totally worth it.
